教師發展

由於教師的發展被認為是促進學生學習數學建模及相關應用的促成因素,因此將其作為本計劃的關鍵目標之一。教師的預期學習成果包括將數學建模融入教學的態度、行為和技能的改變。

Module 1 - Introduction to Mathematical Modeling and STEM Education 
                     
(It was successfully conducted on 31 May and 25 - 26 June 2019.)

Module 2 - Practicing Mathematical Modeling in Teamwork
                                 (It was successfully conducted on 28 September 2019.)

Content: 

Establishing concept of mathematical modeling; mastering basics for case study and interdisciplinary approach on instruction of mathematical modeling; establishing personal experience of practicing mathematical modeling in solving real world problems of STEM significance.

Module 3 - Principles for Teaching of Mathematical Modeling
                    (It was successfully conducted on 4 May 2019.)

Module 4 - Guidelines for Instruction & Assessment of Mathematical Modeling*

                    *(It was successfully conducted on 1. 27 July 2019 and 2. 14 Mar 2020.)

Content: 

Mastering principles, and guidelines for instruction and being able to use tools of assessment of mathematical modeling.

Module 5 - Mathematical Modeling in Science
                   
(It was successfully conducted on 30 March 2019.)

Module 6 - Mathematical Modeling in Technology & Engineering

                                 (It was successfully conducted on 27 July 2019.)

Content: 

Understanding the application of mathematical modeling in science, technology, and engineering; being able to design and carry out real world problems as teaching cases in science, technology, and engineering such as biology, computing, artificial intelligence and robotics, etc.

Module 7 - Mathematical Modeling in Social Science

                                (It was successfully conducted on 1. 28 Mar 2020 & 2. 18 April 2020 with different topics.)

Module 8 - Applications of Mathematical Modeling in Data-Driven Society

                    (It was successfully conducted on 30 July 2019.)

Content: 

Understanding the application of mathematical modeling in social science and the data-driven society; being able to design and carry out real world problems as teaching cases in social sciences such as economics, finance, public policy and applications in fields of smart city.

                    (It was successfully conducted on 28 Sep 2019.)

Module 10 - Sharing of Mathematical Modeling Education and Learning

                       from IMMC Contest
                    (It was successfully conducted on 26 Oct 2019.)

Content: 

Understanding the pedagogical and educational advantage of IMMC and its role in teaching and learning of mathematical modelling; being able to use IMMC problems and solutions in teaching; being able to design real world problems and carry out school-based or inter-school contest or other activities of mathematical modelling.
