Combining theory and practice can make learning go further. Therefore, the IMMC-QEF field study is to allow teachers and students to get out of the classroom to gain insight beyond classroom lectures. On 26 Nov 2022, with the support of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, teachers and students visited national research centers for research on artificial intelligence and robotics, and even researchers with doctoral degrees and associate professor from university gave lectures on artificial intelligence, medical robots, artificial intelligence and art for teachers and students. And both teachers and students benefited a lot.
CAIR has set up an exhibition hall, which includes artificial intelligence and medical robots for various purposes, and is explained by many researchers, such as MicroNeuro Flexible Endoscopic Robotic System for Neurosurgey, Automatic Robotic Vessel Ultrasound Acquisition and XiaoZhi Driving Assistant App and so on.
Then Dr. Yuxi WANG and Dr. Jian HU, Dr. Wang's lecture were "Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision". He first introduced artificial intelligence and computer vision, and then showed the application of computer vision, such as image classification, object detection, Autonomous driving, etc., as well as the application of artificial intelligence in this field, and finally mentioned the key role of mathematics (modeling) in artificial intelligence and scientific research.
Dr. Hu's topic was "Flexible Minimally Invasive Medical Robot". He first introduced industrial robots and humanoid robots, then talked about the characteristics of soft robots, and specifically mentioned the application of soft robots in surgery and internal inspection.
